Brian Benson
HEAD COACH, Girls 17/18 National - 2026
3 years of coaching experience including Provo High School Boys volleyball and Beach Elite Girls 16s, 17s and 18s. Southern California native from Santa Barbara with 4+ years experience playing beach and 5+ years indoor volleyball experience. Accomplishments include CIF Champion Runner up 2013 Camarillo High School. Collegiate club player UVU. He has a love for both teaching, coaching and playing volleyball. His style is infectious as many players love how he has fun yet is competitive and wants all his players to succeed and rise to the next level. -
Lucas Castillo
HEAD COACH, Boys 16s Elite & Girls 17 Elite
Over 5 years coaching experience. Currently Boys Varsity Assistant Coach at Copper Hills High School. Head Club Coach for 4 seasons prior as well as ran many clinics and camps.
Coaching style focuses on fundamentals, building strong defensive skills, correcting technique to improve performance, and supporting each player’s growth both on and off the court.
Master’s in Healthcare Informatics and work as a Compliance Supervisor in the healthcare industry. Lucas speaks 5 languages.

Jenna Stratton
HEAD COACH, Girls 16 Elite
Over 5 years coaching experience with 5 different teams. In Las Vegas, she coached high school girls at Somerset Sky Point Academy, and girls 16s at Vegas United VBC. She moved to Salt Lake City in 2023 and has coached JV Boys volleyball at Copper Hills High School and just finished her second season. Jenna brings a pure passion for teaching and coaching and wants her players to succeed as all around athletes. “With 5 years of experience and 5 different teams I have a wide variety of expertise in this sport. I am passionate about developing my players and truly letting this sport change their life. I know it did for me. I am so grateful for the coaches I had growing up and hope to be a great role model for this Club. Be ready to learn, work hard, push yourself, and have fun while on my court. “ -

Over 20 years coaching experience. Most recent positions including Beach Elite Girls elit teams and 3 years Varsity coach at Summit High School, Bluffdale UT. 1 year Varsity coach at Jordan High School.
April is passionate, loving yet competitive and reflects this wonderful combination in her coaching style. -

HEAD COACH - Girls 14s EliteOver 15 years coaching experience. Has coached from beginner level, high school in Southern California and Utah, club and D1 NCAA Collegiate Womens at Utah Tech University in St. George, UT. He has coached professionally overseas in Europe and the Middle East as well. Rick has worked for the AVP pro beach volleyball tour in Southern California for 15 years as both a statistician, official and in media relations. Many of his athletes have or are playing at the top D1 universities in the country. His and the story of Beach Elite are an inspiration!

With 1 year of experience so far, Ellsa has come through the Beach Elite system as a player and now giving back as a powerful coach! She is the Freshman Coach at Jordan High School and also Varsity Assistant Coach. She has experience coaching Beach Elite Summer camps for both adults and youth.

Amelia Newkirk
HEAD COACH - Girls 14s Jordan Elite
Amelia played volleyball for Northridge High School, where she helped lead the team to a region championship in 2015. She began coaching during her senior year and went on to coach the Northridge High School boys’ club team in Layton, Utah from 2016 to 2022. Being part of the beginning of so many athletes’ volleyball journeys—and watching them grow year after year—was incredibly rewarding for Amelia. She loved contributing to a program that helped build and expand boys’ volleyball in Utah before it became a sanctioned high school sport. Amelia believes volleyball is more than a game, it’s a powerful teacher of discipline, teamwork, and life lessons that stay with athletes long after they leave the court.Amelia holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Utah and works as a roadway designer for an engineering firm.

2 years coaching club volleyball, specializing in young beginners ages 10-14. Marthi has played competitive in both beach and indoor for over 10 years in Peru and the USA. She enjoys passing on her love and knowledge of volleyball to the next generation. -

2012-2016: Played competitive recreational volleyball at BYU-Idaho (setter and D.S.) 2016- present: Worked with youth as a public school teacher teaching U.S. History and Government in states such as NV, AZ, NJ, and now here in Utah at Jordan High School (go Beetdiggers!) In addition to her teaching career, she loves reading, snowboarding and of course... playing volleyball!

HEAD COACH - Boys AcademyBrandon started playing competitive volleyball in 2014 in Colorado. Since there wasn’t boys volleyball at his middle school, he managed the 7th and 8th grade girls teams. He became a practice player at CBHSVA in 8th grade. He also played club for Team Colorado Volleyball.
Collegiate player for BYU Idaho Men’s Club team 2021-2024 in the Mountain West Conference. He went on to coach the women’s club team at BYU I from 2022-2024Brandon earned his Bachelors Degree at BYU- Idaho and graduated in Health Psychology

Joey Eggers
HEAD BEACH COACH
Over 10 years coaching beach. He currently coaches collegiate beach volleyball at Irvine Valley College in Irvine, CA. He has coached with Beach Elite since its beginning in 2014. He played collegiate indoor and beach volleyball as well. Joey brings a passion and love of the sport and all whom he coaches. -

Coach Rena is an experienced volleyball coach and athletic trainer with 8 years of head coaching experience, including leading 18-1s at Relentless Volleyball Club (RVC) in Colorado and running two high school programs. A 2x CalPac Champion in collegiate indoor and beach volleyball, and a 3x National Semi-Finalist in beach volleyball, she has a proven track record of developing athletes ages 7-17 through elite skill training, strength and endurance programs, and personalized nutrition guidance.

HEAD BEACH COACH
5+ years coaching experience. Led his team at Club Wood to AAU Nationals Gold medal in 2022 and Silver in 2023. Played 8+ years both indoor and beach. Collegiate: Indoor D1 at McKendree University & Saint Thomas Aquinas, won the 2024 regular season title & conference championship. High School: South Gate, went to CIF championship runner up finish in 2017,2018. -

Played 5 years at Pinnacle Volleyball Club at Cal State Long Beach. Currently attending and playing volleyball for the Men’s Volleyball Team at UC Santa Cruz. He has a strong desire to coach and happy that Beach Elite is the starting point of his coaching career. -

Mike has several years coaching and player experience. He is the Head Coach for the Mens Volleyball Team at Westcliff University in Irvine, CA. He is a masterful coach and has a great way of keeping it fun yet competitive. -

Catie Palmer
HEAD BEACH COACH
With a passion for the game and a growing foundation in youth coaching, she brings 2 years of experience coaching junior high girls in grass volleyball, as well as a year of coaching 5th and 6th-grade students. Catie played all four years of high school volleyball at Valley Christian High School (VCHS), where she developed a deep understanding of the game and a love for team culture and player development. She’s committed to creating a fun, encouraging, and skill-focused environment that helps young athletes grow both on and off the court.

Ashlyn Tuttle
With over 8 years of experience as a dedicated volleyball player, Ashlyn brings a deep passion for the game and a strong belief in the power of hard work and dedication to everything she does as a coach. In high school, she played all four years and her team finished 1st place finish at both state and region during her senior season.
Under her club coaching, her teams have found immediate success—placing 1st or 2nd in every tournament they entered. She strives to create an environment where athletes are not only driven to improve but also to enjoy every moment on the court.

Growing up in Arizona, Olivia discovered her passion for volleyball at an early age, playing two years of club volleyball and three years at the high school level. Over the past five years, she has continued to stay active in the sport, rarely missing a week on the court. Volleyball has become more than just a game, it’s a lifelong passion of hers and she’s always excited to share it with others. -

Born and raised in Pendleton, Oregon, Cali discovered her passion for volleyball at a very young age. She grew up playing both club and school ball, and couldn't be more excited to take on coaching. Cali is excited to share her knowledge and love of volleyball with others.

Rylin comes to Beach with 2+ years coaching experience including Storm Volleyball Club in Las Vegas. She has a lot of experience playing competitively at a high level including Storm from 2020-2021 and was team MVP as a setter and libero. She also played for Top Flight Volleyball Academy 16s travel team 2022, 17s travel team 2023 as a Setter, Middle Blocker and Outside.
