HEAD COACH, Boys 17s National & Girls 14 Elite. BOY’S DIRECTOR
Over 5 years coaching experience. Currently Boys Varsity Assistant Coach at Copper Hills High School. Head Club Coach for 4 seasons prior as well as ran many clinics and camps.
Coaching style focuses on fundamentals, building strong defensive skills, correcting technique to improve performance, and supporting each player’s growth both on and off the court.
Master’s in Healthcare Informatics and work as a Compliance Supervisor in the healthcare industry. Lucas speaks 5 languages.

Erin Hicks
HEAD COACH - Girls 17s National
Erin started her volleyball career at the age of 9, and played collegiate ball in northeastern Georgia until 2019. She started coaching 10U and 12U with a Driven Volleyball in central FL last year and unfortunately had to leave her position recently due to a job opportunity in Utah. She has been coaching at Beach Elite for 1 year so far.
She has a passion for teaching hard work and leadership through volleyball. -

John Sheen
ASSISTANT COACH - Boys 17s
John has been coaching for over 10 years including with Aspire Volleyball Club in Arizona from 2009-2012 and served as the head coach of the Girl’s 18 Black National Team. He has also coached as a Varsity Assistant at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix AZ, helping athletes develop their skills and compete at a high level.John believes great coaching starts by understanding each athlete's goals and helping them become the best player they can be. He creates a positive environment where players are challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow both on and off the court.
He emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and hard work, teaching athletes how to come together as one unit while pursuing a common goal. John believes mistakes are an important part of improvement and encourages players to learn from them with confidence and resilience.

Tessa Christensen
HEAD COACH - Boys 17 Elite, Girls 17s Elite
Tessa grew up in Washington State and moved to Utah the summer before her freshman year of high school. Her volleyball journey began in 2nd grade and continued through a successful collegiate career.Throughout her playing career, Tessa gained experience in multiple positions. She started as a middle hitter, played outside hitter during her freshman year on the varsity team, and was ultimately recruited to play in college at Utah State as a right-side hitter. She has coached for 3+ years.
Tessa is passionate about helping athletes develop both their skills and love for the game. She believes that great coaches have a responsibility to pass on their knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to the next generation of players.

Hannah Albers
ASSISTANT COACH - Girls 14 Elite
Over 10 years of playing experience in college, rec leagues, high school, club, and now adult leagues. She has coached club for 1 previous season, and has helped coach many volleyball clinics.Hanna is a cartographer and photogrammetrist. She enjoys exploring the Wasatch from the Salt Lake City area and attending LOVB professional volleyball games during the winter season.

Kennady Kimball
HEACH COACH - Boys 15 Elite, Girls 15s Regional
Kennady has 13 years of volleyball experience between high school, rec, club, and college where her primary position was as a middle.She played her first two indoor, and one beach season, at Salt Lake Community College. She then transferred to continued her career at the D1 level at Southern Utah University.
Kennady has coached rec and a season of 7-9th grade boys through Spanish Fork High School. She strives to help athletes play to the best of their abilities as they learn and grow within the sport. She feels that the lessons learned within volleyball reach far beyond the court, and help athletes to develop skills that will serve them throughout their lifetime.

Boys 15 EliteBrin is a volleyball coach with passion for developing athletes both on and off the court. After earning Regional MVP honors at Tooele High and First Team All-Conference at Snow College, she transitioned into coaching—working with boys at Herriman High School, girls at Club V and now coaching boys at American Fork High School. Her focus is building strong fundamentals, competitive mindset and a love for the game

Jenna Stratton

Over 5 years coaching experience with 5 different teams. In Las Vegas, she coached high school girls at Somerset Sky Point Academy, and girls 16s at Vegas United VBC. She moved to Salt Lake City in 2023 and has coached JV Boys volleyball at Copper Hills High School and just finished her second season. Jenna brings a pure passion for teaching and coaching and wants her players to succeed as all around athletes. “ -

Has coached from beginner level, high school in Southern California and Utah, club and D1 NCAA Collegiate Womens at Utah Tech University in St. George, UT. He has coached professionally overseas in Europe and the Middle East as well. Rick has worked for the AVP pro beach volleyball tour in Southern California for 15 years as both a statistician, official and in media relations. Many of his athletes have or are playing at the top D1 universities in the country. His and the story of Beach Elite are an inspiration!

HEAD COACH - Boys AcademyBrandon started playing competitive volleyball in 2014 in Colorado. Since there wasn’t boys volleyball at his middle school, he managed the 7th and 8th grade girls teams. He became a practice player at CBHSVA in 8th grade. He also played club for Team Colorado Volleyball.
Collegiate player for BYU Idaho Men’s Club team 2021-2024 in the Mountain West Conference. He went on to coach the women’s club team at BYU I from 2022-2024Brandon earned his Bachelors Degree at BYU- Idaho and graduated in Health Psychology

Amelia Newkirk
HEAD COACH - Girls 14s Jordan Elite
Amelia played volleyball for Northridge High School, where she helped lead the team to a region championship in 2015. She began coaching during her senior year and went on to coach the Northridge High School boys’ club team in Layton, Utah from 2016 to 2022. Being part of the beginning of so many athletes’ volleyball journeys—and watching them grow year after year—was incredibly rewarding for Amelia. She loved contributing to a program that helped build and expand boys’ volleyball in Utah before it became a sanctioned high school sport. Amelia believes volleyball is more than a game, it’s a powerful teacher of discipline, teamwork, and life lessons that stay with athletes long after they leave the court.Amelia holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Utah and works as a roadway designer for an engineering firm.

Pat Madden
ASSISTANT COACH - Boys 18 Blue
Pat brings a unique combination of playing experience, coaching experience, and a passion for helping young athletes grow through volleyball. He played men’s volleyball at Notre Dame and Ohio University while attending graduate school, later competing for USVBA club teams and spending a year on a semiprofessional team in Montevideo, Uruguay. A New Jersey native, Pat has also played in hundreds of beach and grass volleyball tournaments, winning several at the AA level. He has coached girls, boys, and coed volleyball in city recreation leagues for 15 years and spent two years as an assistant coach at Lehi High School.Pat’s coaching philosophy focuses on developing both the physical and mental skills needed to succeed in volleyball. He helps athletes become comfortable with unfamiliar movements, build confidence and resilience, and learn to respond positively to adversity. He believes great volleyball comes from bringing out the best in both the individual and the team while creating an environment where athletes can grow on and off the court. Outside of volleyball, Pat is a writer and professor of creative writing at Brigham Young University.

Halley Sabey

Halley recently graduated from high school after completing her dental assisting program and plans to continue her education working with children with special needs.
Halley discovered her love for volleyball at age 12 while playing in junior high. She began her club career with Club V North on an AR team, played one season of high school volleyball, and then dedicated her full focus to club volleyball. She finished her club career with Beach Elite on the 18s National team.
Halley is excited to begin her coaching journey and is passionate about helping young athletes grow in both their skills and confidence. She hopes to inspire players to achieve their volleyball goals while developing the same love and passion for the game that has shaped her own life.

At thirteen, she earned a spot on an 18s team, competing against older athletes and being held to the same high standards throughout the rest of her club career. Having played every position except setter, she developed a strong understanding of the game and the value of teamwork, discipline, and effort.. Her coaching philosophy centers on relentless effort, strong defensive play, smart offensive decision-making, and a commitment to continuous learning. She believes every athlete can make an impact on the court and expects players to bring energy, coachability, and a willingness to improve every day.

Jenna Crandall

With 12 years of coaching experience at every level of the game, Jenna is passionate about helping athletes develop not only as volleyball players but also as confident, resilient individuals. Her coaching journey includes serving as the Freshman Coach at Pleasant Grove High School (2014–2015), JV Coach at Canyon View High School (2015–2017), JV Coach at Springville High School (2017), Head Coach at Springville High School (2018–2020), and Assistant Coach at Snow College (2021–2024). In addition to coaching high school and collegiate volleyball, she has spent more than a decade coaching club volleyball, including owning and operating a volleyball club in Cedar City from 2015–2017.Jenna’s coaching philosophy is built on a simple principle: person first, athlete second. She believes athletes grow the most when they feel valued, supported, and challenged, and she strives to create a positive, competitive environment where players develop as teammates, leaders, and individuals. Jenna holds her athletes to high standards, emphasizing discipline, accountability, and grit while encouraging them to embrace hard work and continual improvement. At the same time, she is committed to fostering a lifelong love for volleyball, ensuring every athlete leaves the gym feeling challenged, inspired, and excited to return for the next practice.

Haili Hannah
HEAD COACH
Haili brings an extensive competitive volleyball background along with two years of coaching experience. Her playing career includes four years of varsity volleyball at Mission Bay High School (2007–2011), four years of club volleyball with San Diego Volleyball Club, and three years at the collegiate level with the University of Redlands. She played primarily as an outside hitter while also playing libero, giving her experience on both the offensive and defensive sides of the game.Haili has a genuine love for volleyball and is passionate about helping young athletes grow in their skills, confidence, and love for the game. Her coaching philosophy is fundamentals first, with an emphasis on creating a positive and encouraging environment where athletes feel supported enough to challenge themselves, take risks, and learn from their mistakes. She believes some of the greatest growth happens when athletes aren’t afraid to fail and are given the confidence to keep trying.
As a coach, Haili strives to get to know each athlete and help them recognize their own strengths and potential. Her goal is not only to develop stronger volleyball players, but also to help build confident, resilient teammates who understand the value of hard work, accountability, and supporting one another—while making sure they have fun and continue to love the game along the way.
